About Us

Who We Are

The Catholic Nurses Association of Kenya (CNAK) started in 1981 as Caritas Nurses Association of Kenya. It was established through the support of the Caritas Nurses of Germany and with the effort of the late His Eminence Cardinal Maurice Otunga.

Members of the association come from public and private health facilities, Faith Based organizations, private and retired nurse practitioners. Members of the
association come from branches throughout the country and the headquarters are in Nairobi. CNAK is a member of the International Committee of Nurses and Medical Social Assistants (CICIAMS)

The organization aims to bring together healthcare workers including nurses of the Catholic faith to unite and strengthen each other spiritually, socially and professionally. Members of CNAK view their work as a service to Christ whom they encounter in all the sick, poor, helpless, despised, underprivileged and persecuted in the community.
